Asia opens up

Traveling to Asia just got easier as Hong Kong passengers will allow transit through their airport from April 1st.

The city is still largely closed to tourists, but it is a major airport hub for destinations throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, many countries in Asia are currently taking the “living with the virus” approach.

South Korea is lifting quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated visitors from April 1, while Indonesia has lifted its quarantine rules for foreign visitors following a successful trial on the popular island of Bali.

The Spanish Canary Islands have lifted their local restrictions, which is great news for spring break. In addition to lifting mask and testing rules, nightclubs may reopen and dancing is allowed again.
Vaccinated travelers traveling to South Africa are no longer required to enter a negative PCR test. Not vaccinated? You can get vaccinated in the country as soon as you land, as local vaccination centers allow people from anywhere in the world to come and request a shot.
However, the United States remains wary of international travel. This week, the Indian Ocean island country was the only country to receive a Level 4 “avoid travel” status from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It’s a good news. The less good news is that there are still about 120 destinations at level 4.
