Hunger and food insecurity have reached catastrophic levels in Afghanistan. The drought, the pandemic and the cessation of foreign aid after the Taliban came to power put the country in a difficult position. The war in Ukraine is loading global food aid and pushing up prices. International aid workers warn that millions of Afghans face starvation and at least a million children face death.
