A 47-year-old Perth man faces 240 charges of indecent treatment of a child under 13, 98 charges of indecent recording of a child under 13, and 44 counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13, Western Australia Police said in a statement. Wednesday. .

The allegations follow a months-long investigation launched last July.
The man’s home and workplace were searched and numerous electronic storage devices were seized, police said.
After a digital forensic examination, authorities identified approximately 3.8 million images and videos believed to be child exploitation-related material.
Police said detectives have identified 24 boys and girls who were sexually abused. The abuse is alleged to have taken place between 2015 and 2021.
A 9 News report said the children were between 3 and 13 years old, and police believe the victims were known to the man through family and friends.
The man is due to appear later this month in Perth Magistrates’ Court.
